"Jesus paid for the sin that separated me from a God who loved me
In my early twenties I had little awareness of God and I wasn't looking for Him either. Church was for people who needed a crutch to get through life! I had everything I needed; steady job, nice car, friends, sports. I could have used more money though!
It was at my workplace that God put people in my path who told me about Jesus. They were not people who needed a crutch, they were different, and they spoke about Christ in a personal way. They told me I needed Christ in my life.
Time passed and I learned that Jesus paid for the sin that separated me from a God who loved me and who died for me and was seeking to save me. Sometime later I asked Jesus to forgive me and be my Saviour.
I recall two things that changed in a relatively short period of time. First, I had a great desire to read the bible and learn more about God. Second, I started losing interest in the things that had previously defined my life.
And a third thing…I started going to church!
