"How could God let this happen to his little boy?

I was brought up Catholic although my parents never went to church. I would go to church on Sundays and during the week with my school. I was told that in order for me to get to Heaven, I had to be a good person.

I always believed in God, but did not know anything about salvation. I became a Protestant after I got married and attended a United church.

In the year 2000, I began to read this book by John Walsh titled Searching For Adam. In the book, John asked the question, "How could God let this happen to his little boy". His son was kidnapped and murdered.

In 2001, our neighbours invited us to Temple Baptist church. They were born again Christians. It was a great experience going to a Bible-teaching, Bible-believing church. That same summer we went to the beach with the same neighbours. I had asked them the same question that John Walsh asked God. While they explained to me, I began to listen and take it all in.

That's when I had a spiritual awakening. I became a new creation like the Bible says. I can't explain it, but I knew it was real. That was when I accepted the Lord. Some things you cannot explain; I really felt that God was opening my heart and taking the scales off my eyes.

My favourite Bible verses are John 3:16 and John 14:1-6.
